Ooh, I love this!

After I finished this card, I thought to myself: I wonder what “normal” people do all night? I stayed up half the night creating this for the SC187 challenge. I totally love it and it's so "me".

I colored this cute guy first. I picked up a great tip on SCS but can't find the thread again (I want to thank her if you can tell me where it is!!). She suggested I spray the image with spray matte sealer before I color with my prismas. OOh, I like how it turned out (and I have tons of this spray from painting). As many of my images are received through trades, I don't always get a choice on the paper or ink. The matte sealer takes that problem out of the equation.

I made the back panel THEN cut out the rectangle in the middle. DUMB! I don't know what I was thinking. I usually cut first and then stick all the pieces back together like a puzzle on my cricut mat (see here). Trust me.....cut first! After I cut the rectangle out of the middle, I cut the three strips. Note: I couldn't just make 3 cuts and spread them out because then my trees wouldn't match up again. I had to cut 1/8" out from the strips so everything would line back up with the main rectangle.

One other hint (from my painting past), when figuring out where to place the trees, make sure they are not RIGHT behind the boy's head. This would make the boy look like he has a tree growing out of his head! Ha!
