SC184 Walkin' the Dog

When I have an idea in my head about something I want to create, I have to "get it out" by doing it. I cannot concentrate on anything else until I do. It drives me nuts! I've been wanting to try creating a scene with a sketch that most people wouldn't think of for a scene and here we are. I think it turned out pretty cool. After I finished this (in the middle of the night) I said to myself "Wow, you are totally nuts and terribly addicted to stamping!". Ha!

First, I brayered the Soft Sky "sky" and the River Rock "path". I only used one color each as I didn't want to detract away from my main image of the lady. Then I lightly stamped on the trees, leaves, and plants. This is unusual for me because I normally do the trees/leaves/plants first and emboss them and then brayer. I wanted to try a different look this time. I sponged a little Not Quite Navy around the top and more River Rock on the bottom for interest. (NOTE: I have found brayering easier on SU Cardstock that has a bit of gloss to it rather than the Georgia Pacific cardstock)

I then made all my diamonds and stamped their images on them. I sponged Soft Sky and River Rock on the pieces as appropriate to their location in the final piece. I used my Stamp-a-majig to line up the trees on the large triangle to the trees in the background. The lady and her hat are cut out and adhered on. The branch with the bird was drawn with Copics as I didn't have a good single branch stamp. The "leashes" are embroidery thread that I raided from my DD's craft box in the middle of the night!

So for my idea about using this type of sketch for a scene....Yes! I'll be doing this again!

Stamps: Trees Three, Love Blooms, MFT Gone to the Dogs, MFT Can Ya Dig It?
Paper: Night of Navy, Bazzill
Ink: Next to Navy, Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, River Rock
Accessories: Embroidery thread, paper piercer, copics, Stamp-a-majig
