OCCC Lillies

This was created for this weeks Our Creative Corner Challenge. When I first looked at the inspiration picture, I saw a calla lilly. Look right in the center at the wine glass with the napkin in it. I kinda ran with it from there. The colors and curvy swirls are based on the inspiration photo as well.

I was also inspired by all the artwork that I love that uses these color blocks. I see it everywhere and always stop and look.

First, I used post it notes to mask off an area of the main image. I then sponged the color appropriate to that area. I didn't cover it 100% as I wanted it to look a little worn and not too perfect. I then moved the post its and sponged the next area, etc. I used Close to Cocoa around the edge of this image and also where two colors meet. (The Close to Cocoa on the River Rock is especially Yummy!)

I stamped the calla lillies on another piece of Georgia Pacific Cardstock. I colored the center in Yo Yo Yellow. I used a blender pen and River Rock to shadow the white part of the lillies. I used Sage Shadow on the stems. These were cutout and adheared to the main image.

The apricot layer and creamy caramel base were sponged around the edges with Creamy Caramel.

I'm not very good and staying inside the box so I lined up the three layers and stamped the swirls in Virsamark across all the layers (see pic). You can also see in this pic that I used a grey copic to shadow the lillies a bit. Finally, I added the ribbon and sentiment and adheared the layers together.

Stamps: Long-Stemmed, Hanna Stamps Things Hanna Would Say, Autumn Leaves Swirls
Paper: Creamy Caramel, Apricot Appeal
Ink: River Rock, Ruby Red, YoYoYellow, Sage Shadow, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: SU Apricot Appeal Ribbon, Virsamark

Enjoy!
